What are NeuroMelodies Events?

Enjoying Music

Listening to music and singing songs has been found to restore musical memories preserved in Alzheimer's brains. Certain types of music provided the best outcomes in improving mood, reducing agitation, and more. It is a POWERFUL comfort.

In NeuroMelodies Events, we invite student musicians from local orchestras to perform music at senior care centers. Since 2021, we have hosted these in-person entertainment in North Carolina, but also virtually for individuals based in other states, such as New York and Arizona. In 2024, we will be expanding our in-person NeuroMelodies events to the Bay Area.

We also curated a entirely free collection of pre-recorded music performances, ranging from jazz to piano and of various durations, so individiuals can listen wherever, whenever, and to their preference. Additionally, these music have been used for Tai Chi classes in an elderly care facility. As research shows that listening to specific audio frequencies improved symptoms, we also included background noise of such frequency in our collection. While we cannot guarantee any effects, we hope individuals enjoy listening to the tones!
